Don't use 5.56 muzzle devices on 9mms it doesn't work well. Actual pictures of what happens when you attempt the unthinkable.

A blow'd up Springfield XD .45 with a conversion barrel in .460 Rowland. Looks like somebody didn't use the starting load data and went straight to warp speed reloads.

I don't have any pictures (unfortunately) but a friend of mine was using a laser bore sight that fit into the muzzle of the rifle. We were at Rio Salado where he used it to sight in his brand new Springfield M1A SOCOM. The bore sight worked perfectly to help him get a basic zero for his red dot mounted on the rifle. When he went to dial in the zero, he forgot to remove the bore sight from the muzzle....and you guessed it...KABOOM. Muzzle brake gone, barrel peeled back, op rod bent. Very surprisingly, Springfield repaired the rifle for free. And despite the laser bore sight being launched about 75 yards down range, it was undamaged.
