Are you having problems with a rifle or handgun? Having problems with a magazine? This is the place to post for help or to help others. If you fixed that nagging problem with your AR-15, this is the place to post how you did it.

I'll just leave this here...

You know, when Dad was on PhxPD, he carried a stainless S&W M60 .38 snubbie as a back-up gun. And because he was on a walking beat in the Deuce, he sweated all over that thing, which is why he bought the stainless steel gun in the first place. It didn't take him long to stain that "stainless" revolver.
It looks like this was an early Model 686 when the frame, cylinder and barrel were stainless but the lockwork was still carbon steel. I'm almost willing to bet something similar happened.
So when you're loading your own AK ammo, make sure you don't forget the AutoComp pistol powder is what you have in the powder hopper and not the CFE Black you THOUGHT was in there.
Customer brought this in.. Customer states that the ammo came from a sealed plastic bag his buddy gave him.
I didn't get a picture of the extractor that was bent into an "L". Even the top of the carrier was split from the front of the carrier to the cam slot..

Really? Wouldn't it just be easier to cannibalize parts from that one and put on a new one? I guess people are too ignorant to learn enough about their guns to swap parts, kinda sad about that fact. The only guy that I would've trusted was Glockmonger, and he's no longer with us anymore . But he would've said the same thing I just did. Honestly, I've never been in a gunsmiths shop other than his, never needed one yet.

Really? The upper receiver is cracked in 2 places that I could VISUALLY see, the BCG is trashed; the bolt MAY be good but without doing an NDI inspection on it I am going to assume it is bad/fractured also. The brass is welded in the chamber, the mag well on the lower is bowed out with signs of stress where it is bowed.. Not much really left to cannibalize. So, I guess I am the ignorant one here..

So, if you know that much, why try to save it and just assemble a new one. Geezus, if it's trashed, it's trashed, make use of what you can and be done with it.

I never said I tried to fix it. I just went through it so the customer can make an informed decision on how to proceed. He decided to just replace it with a new one.
Also this is the "Blown up and ruined guns" sub forum, correct? That is what I posted, a blown up rifle more then likely from bad/unknown ammo.
