Need a local smith

I need a gunsmith to help me with swapping out a birdcage hider for a Noveske Flaming Pig comp. Not interested in buying the proper tools or meeting in someone's garage, etc.

I am in the NW valley area at 67th Ave and the 101. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Dang, I was going to offer to do it for free, but that would entail "meeting in my garage".

Oh well...

If you do pay a GS to do it, I would have them install it properly-timed with shim(s) and not an unsightly crush washer, along with a dab of Rocksett, but that's just me.

From what I understand there is no timing on the Flaming pig. It reduces flash by creating backpressure and that isn't dependent on slots facing in any particular direction. The last one I saw shipped with a new crush washer and no timing washers.

I'm near 75 & union hills. I have tools to hold barrel, shout here and/or PM.

The only proper tool you need is a 3/4" open end wrench.
ETA- Also some blue painters tape or simple masking tape to put on the wrenching flats to prevent scratching. Yes the wrench will fit over the tape.

Just trying to tell you it's a very simple task. To loosen lay the rifle on it's left side and put your knee down on the receiver and grip area just enough to hold it down. To tighten flip the rifle on it's right side and do same.
And remember.... righty tighty... lefty loosy...lol

Depends on your level of OCD I guess.

There is writing on one side and the flaming pig logo on the other, both of which are parallel with the wrench flats. So, on the ones I've done I made sure to line up both so the writing & logo aligns level with the L/R rail sides.

The last one I saw shipped with a new crush washer and no timing washers.

I time them anyway, and use shims whenever possible (even if a FH doesn't need to be timed).
Just not a fan of crush washers unless it's for a period / clone correct build.

YMMV of course.

OP: Sorry, I totally spaced this - You might look up AZ Gun Dog. Owner's name is Rob. Very good peeps, and runs an FFL/SOT out of his house (or at least he used to). He is (or was) located in NE Peoria off of 67th Ave, north of Jomax. Very reasonable price for transfer as well. Good luck.

I have and use a barrel extension torque tool. You don't have to remove the handguard for a barrel vise, no chance of marring the barrel, and don't have to worry about a clamshell upper receiver vice fitting fancy billet uppers. I'm willing to help but I don't have a stock of washers for OCD timing issues.

I didn’t mean to come off the way I sounded above. I know how the process “shoukd” work, but the
Is particular birdcage really enjoys the barrel and I don’t want to muck it up.
I do want the pig as OCD proper as possible, but it’s a directional funnel, essentially, so I agree that it doesn’t matter. AZGunDog lives within a rock’s throw of me. I can’t seem to find anything on him doing a search under that tag. Anyone have contact info for him? I have a shotgun that needs repairing as well.
