I have a AKM74 kit just laying in my closet for a few years now. Now that AZEX shut down, I need to find a good builder to put my kit together.

Anyone know of any local good builders?

Lee Armory

I've never had them build anything me. I just randomly stopped into there one day because I saw the "gun shop" flag out by the side walk on my way home from work. Seemed like cool guys, answered a bunch of my questions knowing full well I wasn't buying anything that day..

Yup, one of my biggest gun regrets was not getting an AK74 and Daewoo built by Derek before everything happened. My buddy has an AZEX AK74 and its a work of art

I would recommend Mark Graham of Arizona Response Systems. I cannot guarantee that he is still doing AKs, but still...no harm in calling.

But...he is located in Surprise. That may be too far out of your way.

I think Derek used to do the Coating for Lee Armory, maybe some of the assy. as well. KI remember him having dozens of guns in his car to deliver to them. I will be interested to hear and see the results of this endeavor. I have heard good things about Rifle Dynamics in Vegas and Piece of History Firearms in Tucson but do not have first hand experience. I know Derek passed on his AK building/Coating to another local shop but i can never remember there name. I need to ask him.

I wondered about the Kilo thing as i have not heard of them at all. You would think that someone would have used them on here if they were any good.
