Help converting Vepr 5.45 20" bbl to RPK-74

Post by hairygreek »

Hello all. I want to put a Yugo RPK bipod onto my Vepr 5.45. I might need some advanced help with this, so I'm wondering if anybody can help me out, or has ideas.

1. I can remove front sight base, turn down barrel, get RPK front sight base. I can't do this alone.

2. I can cut/modify bipod collar and put it over barrel without taking off front sight base, somehow reattach collar together again, somehow keep collar from sliding down barrel, put something in front sight base to prevent lateral movement like old collar. I think I can do this alone.

Any ideas? Local help? I wanted to do this as a project alone but don't want to mess it up.

Personally I wouldn’t modify anything on the barrel keep it as original as possible.

Modify the bipod or trade me the rifle haha 545 is a awesome little round bet that thing is fun!!

Yeah I decided to keep it stock. Too cost prohibitive. Though I wish somebody would take this RPK barrel off my hands...
