Who is the local SIG specialist?

I have a lot of SIGs and most are modified in some way (and all out of warranty) that makes it impractical to send back to SIG. I DIY a lot, but need some pro help on a few. I live in Cave Creek and don't want to drive all the way to Wright Armory or deal with their pricing or wait times. Anyone closer to me?

I have a P228 that doesn't shoot straight, thought the barrel lockup is fine and I know the sights were installed correctly. I have a P239 whose sear spring seat pin came out, which I can replace easily enough. But I want to know what caused it. And I feel like the SRT in there has always been a problem.

Years ago, the gunsmith at Shooter's World off Indian School Rd., repaired my 226. "Magnum Precision" or something like that.

When you say it doesn't shoot straight, is not shooting a group or is the group not hitting where you want it to.

It's definitely pulling to the left and the groups are not nearly as tight as any of my other about 20 SIGs. Sights are Trijicon Bright and Toughs, they are dead center in the dovetails and not at all loose.

My 228 isn't as tight as my other Sigs (they all rattle) but then again its not a target pistol. Part of my problem is old eyes. I assume you're still shooting tight groups with your other Sigs. Try shooting it from really close, like three yards, and see how it groups. I think its 50 rounds, but try shooting a dot drill from close range and see what it does. Moving sights is not a problem as long as the group is there.

It's certainly NEVER the shooter...it's ALWAYS the gun...

If I didn't shoot way, way better with all my other SIGs, I might think it's the nut behind the wheel. But there's something going on with this one. None of my others are tuned beyond a SRT kit and a few are refinished. But they are all far more accurate - P220s, P226s, SP2022, 1911, P2365s.

A Sig P228 grip is far different from a P220, P226, SP2022, P365. Each gun is going to fit you differently. Your trigger finger is going to fit differently, your support hand will fit differently, etc. Assuming you are right handed, shooting left indicates you are not putting enough trigger finger on the trigger. Try adjusting where you place your finger on the trigger.

For your other Sig, the pins fall out or drift over time due to metal wear, both on the pin and the frame.
