What is a good buffer weight for a 300 blackout pistol? All I have is 220 grain ammo right now.

I’m going to try to answer like you asked elsewhere, I just don’t want to argue with the local “expert”, who I’ve already commented on publicly.

Your challenge is physics, every action has an EQUAL and opposite reaction. Increase buffer weight and you will slow down a greater mass which will not reduce recoil, just the way you feel it. You need a spring buffer combination on a .300 that runs reliably with how you are going to use it.

Full boat 200gr for hunting versus 200gr subsonic for suppressed or 110 gr varmint loads. Based on your other question, you have a 9” barrel so your probably have a pistol gas system which introduces another challenge to reliability.

I use a 7.5 weight with standard carbine buffer spring. Runs fine with everything I have put through it suppressed or not.

For recoil reduction I use this on my 300 and 458 SOCOM:

I always start with an H buffer and a standard carbine spring,
fire some rounds and depending on the ejection pattern,
adjust the buffer/spring as needed.

Forgot to mention, mine is a 10.5" with a Carbine gas system.
