Opinion of Phoenix Custom Rifles?

#1

Post by leadman1 »

I bought a couple of take-off barrels, a Bartlien and a Brux. One in 300 WM and the other in 308 TAC Match? These are threaded for a Remington 700 and have the PCR name engraved in them. I have a Remington 700 action I want blueprinted and called them and got a positive response with a very quick turn-around.
I haven't taken a gun to a 'smith in years and was wondering if I am making the right choice going with PCR?

I’ve heard nothing but good things from/about them, and they’re highly regarded in the long-range community. Pretty sure you can deal with confidence.

The best. Excellent work at very good prices. I wish they worked on more than just bolt guns.

Had them cut and thread a Marlin/Glenfield model 25 barrel. Happy with the results.

The shop hours used to be kinda funky, but otherwise A+.

Took my action in Monday about 9 a.m., Keith called me about 1 p.m. and said it was done! Very nice finish on the parts he machined. Very pleased with the work.

Last week I took the parts to my friends house that has a Remington receiver wrench and we screwed the used barrel into the receiver. Ended up with just a touch over .001" headspace. Talk about lucky!
Loaded some ammo for it last night and hope to take it out this week to shoot.

Been working on several other guns and will take them all out at once for the initial testing. Should finish with the initial building of the 1891 Mauser I am building to be a light rifle for hunting junipers for elk today.
