AR-15 Bolt Catch Replacement (Mil Spec??)

#1

Post by NBC_LT »

Got an old DPMS AR15 rifle with a bit of a chewed up bolt catch. Replacement seems easy, however, I saw that some bolt catches are advertised as Mil-Spec and I was wondering if, like recoil/stock buffer tubes, there was a Mil-Spec and Civilian Spec?

The buffer tube on this rifle was not Mil-Spec - do I need to buy a bolt catch listed as "AR15" of "Non-Mil Spec"?

Is there any reason to think that the Strike Industries or Giselle Automatics bolt catch would not fit my rifle?

No Mil/Civ different specs. One bolt catch fits all rifles, assuming that you don't have any weird ambi stuff going on.
