Searching for Rifle Case
OK, here is what I'm looking for....I've never seen one, but maybe someone here has.
I'm looking for a rifle case...like a Pelican case with pluck-n-pull or foam I can cut, that doesn't have the extremely heavy outer shell. I like the idea of custom cut foam, but I'll never be shipping/checking it, so I don't need to lug around a 27lb plastic shell.
The outer casing should be nylon, zipper closure.
The closest thing I have come across would be a semi-rigid guitar case, but obviously I don't need the interior to be lined for a guitar.
I can always fabricate something built for another purpose, but finding something 40" long to fit a rifle is difficult.
Any ideas?

90% of 3,250 people give it 5 stars. You can cut an insert-able foam pad if needed and price is right.

ETA- You probably already know this but you can cut any shape you want in foam pad with an electric carving knife. (food prep type)

Don't want anything that screams "GUN IN THIS BAG".

Re: Searching for Rifle Case
I have a sk8 case that does rifles and guitars. Gibson sticker or similar and people look the other way. I also have a pelican that came from a photo company and has their decals. Neither scream "gun inside" but not quite incognito. Pm me if you want either. I need extra long cases and these just collecting dust.

I would check out the Gator semi-rigid keyboard cases. You'll have to source the foam separately, but it sounds like it might be in the ballpark of what you're looking for. I use some of the Gator keyboard cases for lighting equipment when I truck it around town for shoots. They make good stuff.

That is the closest thing I have seen to what I want...but they all have wheels. I don't mind sourcing the foam, that's easy. finding a case that is a) long enough and b) not filled with a bunch of partitions I don't need that is proving difficult.AZ_Five56 wrote: ↑July 28th, 2020, 8:33 pm I would check out the Gator semi-rigid keyboard cases. I want something that looks like this on the outside; no MOLLE, no pouches...
and has this on the inside;

Re: Searching for Rifle Case
Those Peak cases are nice, but none of them will fit my rifle. Not sure why they don't offer a DIY version...

Re: Searching for Rifle Case
I think they can probably work with you on specific layout / fit for your rifle.
Or, maybe even sell you one with a "blank" insert.
From their main pages:
"Modifications Can Be Made To Our Standard Cases At Minimal Or No Cost."
