REVIEW: Kydex holster for Ruger Standard Mk1?

Does anybody make a Kydex holster for the Ruger Standard .22? Just acquired an old one, for fun plinking. Barrel 4 5/8", but a simple belt slide with the pistol retained by a dimple in the trigger guard would be just fine. Is there such a thing?

I just ordered one of these. ($31 on Amazon.)

Due to the open slot on the top of the holster and the open end of the holster, this holster allows use with or without optics and with or without a suppressor.

• Use with or without optics: The open slot on the top allows use with optics
• Use with or without a suppressor or compensator: The open end of the holster allows use with a suppressor, 1.0" OD** or smaller, or compensator attached to the pistol muzzle
• Lightweight: Made of a lightweight polymer material
• Ambidextrous: Perfect for left or right handed shooters
• Height choices: Available in high-ride or low-ride options
• Customized quick & easy pistol removal: Adjustable tension allows customized tension on the pistol for individual user preference
Also supposed to be usable with any version of the Ruger .22, and any barrel length.

OK, it's supposed to work with any model of the Ruger .22. Retention is via the trigger guard, so differences in frame and barrel don't matter.

First up is a plain vanilla Ruger Standard.

Fits fine.

Next up, a Ruger 22/45 with bull barrel.
Because the trigger guard is so wide, I needed to really open up the adjustment screws, but there was plenty of adjustment room. Fits fine. There is a big channel on top for the front sight to clear.

Works with the Gemtech Outback suppressor attached, although it feels pretty tight.

See those two unused holes? To make it left-handed, remove the belt doohicky from the back, and attach it to those two holes.

All in all, a pretty clever bit of engineering by somebody.
