During an interview with the NRA’s 1st Freedom, President Donald Trump said he would sign national reciprocity legislation for concealed carry if it reaches his desk.

Unless something amazing happens during the election, it will never happen.

Just thinking about this yesterday, seems the subject had died out for a time. Do you think it will ever happen?

I will believe it when I see it, plus won't individual states be able to regulate this?

CA and IL will never let this happen.

National Reciprocity has about the same chance of becoming law as the Hearing Protection Act does.

Politicians don't let facts and statistics get in the way of their feelings.

CA and IL will never let this happen.

They may be able to do this as a bargaining chit for something demonrats want.

Problem is states will still play games, like the do with Driver’s licenses. While Illinois recognizes drivers from other states, if you are written a ticket for anything requiring a court appearance, they will hold an Illinois driver’s license as bond, if you have an out of state license you will have to come up with cash or sit in jail.

I think it will come about if Trump wins. But I have a very bad feeling about the Presidential and Senate elections.I REALLY hope I'm wrong.

They had the WH, House, and Senate from 2016-2018. How many pro 2A bills or pieces of legislation did they pass?

Exactly.
We can hope, if he gets a second term, but either way it's just a wish. As my grandma used to say "wish in one hand and s*** in the other, you'll see which one fills up first."
We're talking about the same two parties that could care less what regular folks actually want.

The States will still regulate what they want or don't want. Not going change anything.

The states quite literally can't agree on time of day. Stupid daylight savings! Think they will agree on guns.

It would truly be nice to have 'full faith and credit' apply to CCW.
However, if ever it did reach him, I"m sure there'd be wiggle-room for the nanny-states.
