Fingerprinting during Covid

#1

Post by DMeacham »

I need to get fingerprinted - one Set for CCW and one for work.

No one other than SGC I know of is doing fingerprinting. And they’re slammed. All the UPS stores/Postnets I call won’t do them right now.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I use a place on Mill/Broadway in Tempe. Vertical Identity. They will do electronic prints (gotta ask tho), so you can just roll in and ask for them next time....

How do they store the electronic prints? It would be convenient to have electronic prints but I guess I'm a bit paranoid that once those are stored somewhere, who knows if they get hacked and how they'll be accessed down the line. Then again, the FBI already has so many copies of my prints that I'm not sure how much it matters.

They are stored on a computer in the office. It's still like $10 a card, but you just show ID, and go to the back a run them off. Quick and clean.

I also have found this company. Have not had requirement to use them, but it is another source for getting finger printing.

Thought you had to send in actual paper cards, unless though SilencerShop.

How are you scanning them into the ATF?

I am still looking for somewhere in Tucson area that is doing card fingerprints for CCW...now.

All local PD, Pima and Pinal Sheriffs, and UPS all say they are shut down until the Corvid 19 goes away. 8-)

I have the cards.

I gave up. Couldn’t get anything to fit with my work schedule.

Went to SGC to get a couple sets of cards and guy guy asked why I didn’t just do them myself? I verified with ATF and DPS I could. So bought an ink pad, made a mess of my desk, but cards are complete and sent off.

NEC of 40th st and greenway next to the 40th st cafe is a jt that does cards, at least their sign says so.

i'm doing the do it yourself, got a whole gaggle of cards, and did a dozen or so, for the next couple items on the list, cheap and easy, discovered its best to have someone roll your fingers, as being an old buy i'm slow and had to throw a couple out, but daughter did it and came out great.
best of luck

For what it is worth:
I got fingerprint cards at Diamondback Guns

Sent in on 3 July and received CCW in about 13 days. That includes the 4th of July holiday, weekends and having it returned for correction.

13 days total
