Open Carry - no thanks

I support all liberty, so carry however you want. That said, I believe that open carry (assuming you are of age to CCW) serves little functional/defensive purpose, and may instead hurt more than it helps.

Change my mind.

I saw a young guy at In N Out (couldn't be more than 21) open carrying a giant bling hogleg. I support his right to carry, but it reminded me of what a giant douchebag I was when I was 20, carrying a 7.5" Redhawk in a shoulder holster under my left armpit WHILE also carrying a BHP in a nylon holster on my right hip. Of course while wearing tight 501s, a studded black leather belt that'd make Billy Idol proud, and a tight black wife beater to make sure everyone saw all FOUR guns!

In AZ today, with permitless concealed carry for those over 21, open carry seems to be limited, mostly, to those who either want attention, or have zero experience.

I remember the open carry was the only carry days, I grew up in the valley.
Now days, the majority of open carry people are not the old timers but the inexperienced.

LOL
No Hi Point or O.G. Ruger auto in a saggy Uncle Mikes strong side with a John Wayne/Gunfighter walk and an "I'm your huckleberry shirt"? Then you're moving up sir.

LOL!

Open carry is the Military and Law Enforcement preferred mode of carry.
Seems like they must have good reason for doing such.

Officer presence, and no hinderence by clothing.
I conceal carry off duty.

Only time i would open carry is if hunting, only because it's more comfortable. No reason to open carry in the city.

Only open carry at work (I have too), I don't carry 24/7, when I choose to it will be CCW.

Most of the time I see OC at grocery stores and people around don't seem to mind at all. In a way, it's a good thing so people aren't "scared" about the sight of guns.

Both!

Open carrying was directly responsible for thwarting two robberies without having to draw.

I'm firmly in the concealed camp.

Used to do the open carry thing, even went to the dinners we used to have. It was fun to break bread with gunnies.

But I can do that with my shirt over my gun. No reason to draw attention to one's self.
