Open Carry - no thanks

Discuss carrying a firearm, whether it's concealed carry (CCW), open carry or other...

LOL
In all my years I've seen one dude with a safariland sls strapped to his hip.

My first impression was "good on ya dude"

But then I walked literally inches from the guy while he was bent over the produce picking some melons or something.

Good intent, zero awareness.

Open carrying was directly responsible for thwarting two robberies without having to draw.

I open carry.

Once a year at the AzCDL annual meeting where tasteful open carry is requested.

Other than that, never.

Only concealed in town. Rarely OC out of town. Working with the dog it is concealed as well, he lets me know when someone is having thoughts towards me and will take me to them. I take the gun and the dog everywhere I can and usually don't go anywhere I can't take either of them.

Hell my dog stopped a bank robbery, alerted on a guy walking through the door and he turned and ran out when the dog stood at the end of his leash and started snapping. Security guard recognized the guy after the dog alerted and wanted to bite him, guard had photos of the guy. Was told later that same guy hit a bank within a few miles of the one I was in.

I totally respect peoples right to open carry. That said, I won't open carry unless I'm out shooting in the desert or at a match. Too many lefty Commiefornians here in the state nowadays who'll faint at the sight of a firearm... and I have little interest in chatting with PD when the snowflake calls 911 screaming "active shooter".

They were fun...Golden Corral is garbage, but it was good to meet up.

I recall at least once a bunch of us did an OC motorcycle ride as well.

I know of one open carry that caused a death... The Ahwatukee Harkins robbery years ago (2004). If you are armed openly and they want what you have, you will NOT know they took it!

One reason, I CCW ONLY!

Carry conceal, is to me the best way. No one knows and no burning eyes at the back of my Head.

Only time I open carry is when I'm going to and from a range for practicing - otherwise it's not to be seen
