Re: Open Carry - no thanks
Funny how times have changed.
When I was a kid the family was in the sizzler at metrocenter after church and my dad was open carrying a snubby as usual. We were in the line you wait in before giving your order get drinks etc and some hoplophobic tard visiting from out of town made a stink about the gun. Everyone in line and the tables near by stopped what they were doing and shot the stink eye AT THE HOPLOPHOBE! Shut him up.
Fast forward 25 years and nearly the same thing happened with some idiot loudly saying OMG he has a gun and the stink eye response was directed at my dad along with a police officer arriving to check my dad out.
Things have surely changed. Before the early 90s all carry was open carry and lots of people did so. It was no different than wearing a belt with a pocket knife or flash light on it.
Changed for the worse I say. Such things have got more than one gun owner killed. See the Costco incident as one example.

Conceal carry in unless out in the desert or hunting.

There are myths about OC just as there are myths about ammo type, gun type, etc., etc.! The one myth that seems to survive the test of time without one incident to verify, is the fantasy that a nut-job will try to disarm you.
I have never heard of, nor read of, one incident in over five decades, to confirm such mythological paranoia.
I believe if more OC is done, the less social negativity will result.

I don't "open carry" but I don't do a whole lot to conceal.
Having said that .. I think the people who point and screech like they are the converted from "Invasion of the body Snatchers" should be boxed up and shipped out of state immediately.
A team of Arizona Immigration agents working solely for Arizona gather you up and put you on a bus. Like any good immigrant if you chose to come here "Arizona" from another state, know the rules and try and assimilate.
Some of us came here for the freedom.
To the OP .. I dont know how responsible people having an inanimate object on their belt hurts anyone. I personally find the GIANT phone cases on peoples belts far more irritating.

Agreed!Rubber Duck wrote: ↑May 15th, 2018, 2:31 pm Only time i would open carry is if hunting, only because it's more comfortable. No reason to open carry in the city.
Camping, back country outings and hunting...purely for comfort.

CCW while out and about simply because what I have is no ones business. Open carry while hiking for speed in case I need it.

If you open carry, you just might send the Californians scurrying back to California. That may work as well as the "Don't California my Arizona" sticker or " Welcome to Arizona, Spend your money NOW go home" sticker.

A 2 minute google search revealed a bunch of incidents. This is pretty common. I'll just post 3 for your viewing pleasure:shooter444 wrote: ↑June 3rd, 2018, 4:41 pm There are myths about OC just as there are myths about ammo type, gun type, etc., etc.!
