From what I gather, if at school dropping kids, or inside attending some event, conference, firesrm is okay if secured in the vehicle if and ‘unloaded’...hope it doesn’t sound like I’m splitting hairs but if a mag is inserted, but no round chambered, is that unloaded?

That's a good question... the answer is Yes,(where is that strikeout font?- I meant Yes its loaded, and looking at your question again, i should have said... NO, a loaded mag with none in the chamber is not considered unloaded.

Just the situation you asked about...

That is my understanding as well. It is good to be certain, if you have to defend yourself, the lawyers will definitely be splitting hairs!!

I believe answer is No. Based of that article, it means not chambered but live round is considered loaded.

With that said, common sense is mentioned. Do not use gun in an argument. This was the case of one.

On the other hand, no anti gun media wants to report law abiding citizens prevented mass shooting. If you carry round in chamber, magazine full of ammo, stopped a bad guy after attempt of shooting. It'll be quieter than deaf ear on the media and forgotten pretty quick.

California law is bit more specific by mentioning the magazine/ammo have to be separate and locked in case.

Though common sense not applied.

Thanks for posting this, I'd wondered about the definition of loaded on school property myself.

Negative aspect of this is that you could find yourself removing a magazine in a moving car (prior to entering school property), and trying to do so in a way that is not in a view of others.

Concealed carry is concealed.

I agree. Concealed is concealed. If you have to stop a mass murder deal with the law then.
