Re: CCW wait time
That's impressive. I'm still waiting. I did send an email and they confirmed they received my renewal 2 business days after I sent it but it's still "in process". Not sure why it's so slow for some of us.

Re: CCW wait time
Agreed! There doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason on some of the hold ups. After seeing everyone’s slow returns I was ready to buckle up for the long wait…

Mine was received by DPS on 4/20/2021 and I was emailed a message yesterday that they are backed up and it will be longer.

Re: CCW wait time
Last time I renewed it took them exactly 45 days. This time I don't recall ever getting the paperwork. I ended up mailing it a few weeks before it expired. Who knows how long it will take this time.
Re: CCW wait time
Renewed mine just after New Years and it took around 2 weeks. Glad I did it when I did.

Re: CCW wait time
Mailed mine 2-3 weeks ago. Nothing yet. In the past turn around was always quick for me on renewals, didnt think anything of it until I saw this post. I still have about a month left until it expires, will see if it shows before then.

Re: CCW wait time
Mailed mine this week after this thread prompted me to check my date. Usually they send a notice with a form 90 days before expiration. I checked the website and it still states they do, I guess it’s due to COVID. The new excuse for everything.

Re: CCW wait time
Took the class back in March and received my CCW the very end of June. This was for a new application not renewal. When I checked their website they list 75 working days is the average wait time and that was pretty much my experience.
I have heard of many getting new applications much faster as well. My local home based FFL person said that my experience was more typical but he also mentioned that since both my wife and I had fairly recent FBI background checks done due to my Son's job at NASA that this would account for delays.
He said also that anyone that is employed at places that do background checking it is typical to have a longer investigation and or even a longe than average wait when they run your check when purchasing a new weapon. One other benefit of getting your CCW.
