Re: Videos of engagements
Black kid looks like a Somali, or, better known as a "skinny". More of that diversity and inclusion in that video, for sure.
And yes, kid needs some good self defense skills, but he was probably too busy on his snapchat.
Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

I love it. He didn't kick the guy's ass, although very clearly he could have. He helped him gently to the deck (not "bodyslammed" at all), controlled him with one hand, took the goods, and steered the guy out the door, non-violently. Well done; guy knew what he was doing.
Only concern is if the Misguided Ute were to return with a gun looking for revenge; then the hero would have had to have been prepared for the escalation.

Re: Videos of engagements
IMHO - the only thing better would have been holding him there for law enforcement. I'm sure policy does not allow that (I'm surprised it allowed him to physically confront the guy). My little brother worked loss prevention for a national chain retailer when he was in his early 20's. He said that they were essentially just supposed to be "a presence" and a witness. The liars (lawyers) for the company were so terrified of being sued if they actually stopped a thief that they would not let them have any physical contact. There were times when the surveillance team would see something and call the cops - then point the person out to the cops as they left the store.

Yeah, it's a shame that the economics of jurisprudence in use of force on thieves is that for the retailer it is cheaper to have the clerk killed and that family sue than for the perp to get killed and that family sue. So the retailers are financially motivated to let the thieves escape and the clerks to die.BigNate wrote: ↑November 3rd, 2022, 4:57 pm IMHO - the only thing better would have been holding him there for law enforcement. That needs to be reversed.
