During an interview with the NRA’s 1st Freedom, President Donald Trump said he would sign national reciprocity legislation for concealed carry if it reaches his desk.

National Reciprocity has about the same chance of becoming law as the Hearing Protection Act does.

Nearly zero.

Politicians don't let facts and statistics get in the way of their feelings.

CA and IL will never let this happen.

They may be able to do this as a bargaining chit for something demonrats want.

Problem is states will still play games, like the do with Driver’s licenses. While Illinois recognizes drivers from other states, if you are written a ticket for anything requiring a court appearance, they will hold an Illinois driver’s license as bond, if you have an out of state license you will have to come up with cash or sit in jail.

We can hope, if he gets a second term, but either way it's just a wish. As my grandma used to say "wish in one hand and s*** in the other, you'll see which one fills up first."
