Re: Holster preferences
I'm not all that big a fan of open carry myself, at least not when around other folks. I HAVE carried outside my belt several times when walking in the desert which is why I like a " hybrid " style of holster that can easily adapt from IWB to outside the belt.
I do like a holster that's IWB but comfortable and SAFE. Like as in the holster rides nicely and the pistol goes in and out easily and safely but NEVER comes out of that holster if I happen to fall over on my dirt bike and roll around in the dirt and such. I want my holster to cover the trigger with kydex that is properly formed and good quality.
I have been using a Hidden Hybrid with a .45 Shield for several years. I like this set up a lot. Each person likes different things for various reasons, and ya mostly just have to get out and see what's available and maybe try a few differing models to come up with what YOU like.

Of note, OWB does not equal open carry.kannonvaggon wrote: ↑May 26th, 2020, 5:10 pm I'm not all that big a fan of open carry myself, at least not when around other folks. But I couldn't agree more. It doesn't necessarily have to be Kydex, but a quality holster that covers the trigger and has excellent retention is the most important thing. How you wear it comes second, and at least in my case it changes based on WHAT I'm carrying and what I'm doing.

Re: Holster preferences
Depends on what I'm wearing, winter is easy OWB or shoulder when I have a jacket on, summer I take the smaller gun and do the IWB , I just throw a shirt over it.

Re: Holster preferences
I have a belly band holster from a different brand, and I love it. It's not my everyday holster, but it's great when I'm going hiking or wearing gym shorts. I've carried a full-size handgun in it before, and it stays on me surprisingly well, even when I'm being active.

Re: Holster preferences
Most people carry strong side IWB. A few carry appendix IWB. But it's getting more popular with small guns. It's a Personal preference.

Re: Holster preferences
I recently got a shiny new belt. One of them from Bullhide Belts with a stiffener inside two layers of thick heavy leather.
Ya know what? I LOVE this belt. SOOOO much nicer than my puny, thin, folding over piece of crap I had been wearing for YEARS. I have a couple of fairly top end holsters but I never went to the trouble to get a proper belt. DUH !
