Ffp for rimfire.

Discuss firearm optics, sights, and scopes here (magnified, red-dot, iron sights, etc).

Ffp for rimfire.

Post by Yames82 »

Looking for an optic for my 10/22. Figured I would be using subtentions more often than not for hold over. Most rimfire optics I have seen are sfp. I always swore I wouldn't own an sfp optic. Is it worth the money for ffp or should I get a fixed power optic. Any suggestions for an ffp made specifically for 22lr with 25 yard parallax adjustment?

It's a 10/22. How much money are you willing to spend on it?

You don't need anything fancy.
Any decent scope will work.

The difference between a 22lr scope and a centerfire scope is the parallax is set at 50 yards vs 100 for centerfire, as the typical 22lr shooting distance is <50 yards. If you want a FFP scope for 22lr, most PRS style scopes have adjustable parallax. Like any glass, you can spend more on it than the cost of the rifle. Good luck.

What’s your budget, OP? And what’s the intended use of the rifle?

Just picked up my first 10/22 myself. 10” barrel, No irons. Has a picatinny rail.
Curious to hear what others have preferred as well.

Changed direction and ended up going with the primary arms 1-6 22lr acss. Looking forward to shooting it.

You can actually adjust the parallax on fixed parallax scopes.. search google.

Of course you can. that's what the focus ring adjustment is for. The issue is, it is accurate at the single distance it was adjusted at and not others.

True, I actually did it on my scope a few years back. But since you want it on a 10/22, set it up at 25-35 yards instead of 50 yards, anything after that, distance will be parallax free "I think"
