AR15 SBR - What scope

What scope will fit better on a AR15 SBR ... .. I won't like to spend more then $700-$800. Any suggestions?

That's a personal thing. You need to give us more info on what you want to do with it.

Both of my sbr's I went with mro's. One on a scalarworks leap, and the other on An ADM. I prefer the ADM. But as elk said, 300% preference. I have friends with acogs, irons, 1-4's. Pick your poison.

Question I always asked when I was in the business of building guns: "What is the purpose/intent of this gun?"
That should dictate the build.
Fun?
Home Defense?
Duty Carbine?
2 Gun rig?
3 Gun rig?
General Purpose Carbine that can fill multiple roles?

And when you figure out what purpose you are building it for, don't cheapen out on the optic. Optics planet has good deals some times.

Aimpoint Pro, Trijicon MRO, maybe something in a 1-4 or 1-6 for a scope (Vortex, Nikon, Bushnell, Riton, etc.).

Non-specific questions get non-specific answers.

A red dot or LPVO(Low power variable Optic) the trijicon 1-4x are pretty good for the money.

My vote goes to the low power variable optic. Should be a good choice for what you are looking to do with the rifle.

Maybe something like the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 x 24. They also make a 1X8 PST if you want to take a step up from the strike eagle.

I own several Vortex's and like them enough to recommend them.

Depends on use and barrel length. 9" for CQB...Vortex/Sig/Aimpoint red dot. Unpinned 14.5" for 'all-around' use, the above mentioned Strike Eagle 1-6 could be great.

That's actually personal preference and not to do with barrel length or use.

The LPVO is fine for those that want it on their SBR's or pistols.

Of course. I'm not a professional operator nor do I play one on TV  My statement was not meant to be taken as a rule, which is why I said "could be great" at the end. Nonetheless, the point you make is important to the OP...this is the internet. You will hear opinions from people like me, and people who have actual combat experience, so you have to chew on all of it, and even use it yourself at the range to figure out what works best for you.

There is no correct answer. Unless you say something that is contrary to AZ1182....then you are wrong.

A nice 1-4 or 1-6 would work for light hunting. A red dot is good for range use/cqb.
I’ve made 300 yard shots on coyotes with using my Aimpoint T1, so a powered optics isn’t totally needed.

If I were to do it again, I’d go with a 1-6 powered scope that had a illuminated center dot, so I could use it as a 1x red dot.

But, part of the fun of AR’s is modularity. Have the SBR upper with a red dot, and then build a DMR (designates marksman Rifle, 16” or 18”)upper with a full scope to go with it.

Problem solved.
