RMR Riser

#1

Post by Tacticalplinker »

I picked up a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 Gen3 the other day. I want to keep it as light weight and low profile as possible.

I picked up a Vortex Defender RMR for it this afternoon, but I'm immediately not happy with it. Not the fault of the RMR, but I can't see the damn dot.

I mounted it in several different positions, the only solution I see is an RMR riser. But I want to get some advice and see if I'm missing something and spend even more money.

I don't have any experience with RMR style sights, just traditional red dots and scopes.

I put a 403c Holosun. It works pretty good.

I have used a rmr on a riser on an flattop AR15 so it would co-witness.
It was not very expensive, IIRC I purchased it from Botach.

I'm going to return the Defender today and go a different route. It might not be as low profile and lightweight, but definitely cheaper.

$250+tax for the optic plus another $50-$100 or whatever it's going to be for a riser... That's more than I was looking to spend.

Actually, I've got a spare ADM RMR pattern QD riser that'd work well for you.

As noticed, it'll be too low to work without a riser.

Pop it on and off as needed, DM me if interested.

Appreciate the offer. But I put on a set of Magpul flip-up iron sights for now.

I'll explore optics again in the future.
