We were living in Glendale from 1997 where we bought new, until this past Summer, (2019). My neighborhood was changing both cosmetically, as well as racially. (A lot of racial graffiti was starting to appear on the block walls). The joint was starting to turn into another Maryvale. So screw that! We considered Sun City West, or Sun City. The cleanliness and well kept homes of both areas is very impressive.

And many of the homes are decorated, "old school". Which as a retired person, I find attractive. (I'm bored to death of grey and white rehab jobs everywhere. And shiny black and white subway tile on every kitchen and bathroom wall).

But with the way Maricopa County is changing, it's only a matter of time before it goes blue. Instead we moved to Lake Havasu City. And we absolutely LOVE IT! The town is right around 53,000. But close to half of them are part time Snowbirds. So in the Summer it drops to almost half that.

You see TRUMP 2020 flags flying in front yards everywhere. (Mohave County is the reddest county in Arizona). Liberal anti gun Democrats don't have a friend in the world here. The Lake Havasu City Sportsman's Club is a beautiful gun club. With plenty of pistol, rifle, and shotgun ranges. (They have Skeet, Trap, as well as 5 Stand Sporting Clays, along with archery). The people are friendly, and the place is totally affordable.

There are also really nice neighboring gun clubs in both Kingman and Ft. Mohave. (The Kingman range has a 1,000 yard rifle range, so I can air out my .50 BMG). It was a absolute ball breaker, b!tch of a move, that took us 8 trips back and forth from Glendale. But it was worth it. My wife and I are both in our 60's, and had no family to help us. We traveled at night when it was cooler. (We bought June 3rd, and finished the move August 12th).

I went from a cracker box 2-car garage, that I had to walk sideways in, to a boat deep, 985 Sq. Ft. 3-car, with both an epoxied floor, and evaporative cooling. Plenty of room for all my tools and reloading gear. Here I'll stay until I drop. But I can't get any further west, and still live in Arizona. And that suits me right down to the ground!

Harrier wrote: February 26th, 2020, 1:10 pm So... I've heard a lot recently that the mass migration is mainly conservatives leaving the socialist state.

My question is... are those California Conservatives just a more conservative liberal, a left leaning conservative or are they really what we in fly-over country are used to envisioning as a politically right leaning conservative?

Welcome... but I'm leaving.
I did a metric shitload of jobs in California, around 700 or so and met a ton of people, most of whom were gun people and conservative.

I personally know 7 people who have left for other States, all gun people and all but one millionaires and small business owners. Not one of them would ever vote for a liberal.

Welcome to Corte Bella. I work for your local fire department. Sun City West is not Sun City. They are pretty different animals even if they are both retirement communities. I think you will really enjoy Corte Bella it is a good community. On the upside there are more places to shoot on the west side of town than the east. Enjoy.

If you're moving to any Sun City you are required to buy a whole new wardrobe of polyester plaid golf pants and Hawaiian shirts. And a golf cart, even if you don't golf. Just so you know!
