I started using Longshot couple years back at "intel6's" recommendation. I used in in the 10 and continue to use it for the 40.

For the 10mm and a 180 gr bullet I only used 8.3 gr of Longshot. Gives a nice pop so you know you are shooting something but doesn't beat up the gun. For range use I found it a great round and as accurate as I could shoot.

Probably only traveling a 100 fps faster than a good Quality 40 and seat of pants feel it was on par with factory 10mm range ammo.

5.5 grains of HP38 (same as Win231) using plated 180 grain plugs usually produced right around 1000 fps in my previous Glock 20s I have owned. It duplicate .40S&W ballistics, so might be a little weak to cycle 10mm handguns tuned for maximum loads with high power recoil springs, but in the Glock, they were just fine.

Normally use 10 grains of Blue Dot for just about any 180 grain load.

For 10mm I would normally want something slower than anything you have on hand. Blue Dot, AA#9 etc.

Try the 8.3 gr of Longshot I mentioned. It's actually just a touch under starting load but ... It's still a nice little pop!

I wouldn't us the 231 for that round. I tried the hp38 in .357 and even loaded high side ... It was boring!
