A while ago I got a bunch of reloaded ammo from a guys estate. I used most of it but there is the 256 round that I have never even heard of. I looked into it and it seems to be now obsolete. Does any of you have a gun chambered in 256?

The 256 Winchester Magnum is a 357 Magnum case necked down to 25 caliber. It was introduced in the 1960's in the Ruger Hawkeye pistol as a varmint round. It's a great little round, very accurate with mild recoil. Thompson Center chambered the Contender pistol for it but, I don't know if they still do. If it is reloaded ammo, the only value is in the brass which retails for about a buck a round.
