Anyone else use small magnum pistol primers and accurate #7. Loaded some today and wondering if at 8.2 grains will the psi be to high in a carbine.

What kind of projectile (bullet weight, etc) ?

I only have used AA#7 for my 44mag loads. 18.5gr w/Magnum Primers = 1350FPS, but its a big heavy projectile (240gr). I've know other guys have loaded 9mm 124gr projectile, Std Primers, 7.4gr of AA#7 was pushing 1150FPS. I've also seen guys that shoot 9mm Major use AA#7 @ 10.4gr, 124gr projo's, but std primers pushing 1300fps+. In your case the big variable is the Magnum primers. I believe you will be ok shooting it in a rifle, but would not recommend that load for normal pistols. Note that AA#7 in my mind is pretty dirty at the higher load levels. I know in my 44mag, AA#7 gets the gun really dirty quickly. However it has a nice muzzle blast !

No need for magnum primers in 9MM.
