Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
The last ammo shortage wasn't too bad actually.
People started selling off their 22 guns because they couldn't get ammo for them.
I picked up a few nice 22's the last time for good prices.
Maybe it will happen again. I wouldn't mind getting a couple more.

Drove by Tombstone Tactical today (parking packed like I have never seen before) on the way to evacuate my daughter out of GCU........OMGoodness the craziness!
Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
.40 is always the last one gone.
I was just there to buy water sprout and couldn't believe half ammo was gone and lines for guns.

40 cal sure fell out of favor last few years, it's still an awesome round, after years of wrangling 9 mm, the 45 I have looks like a coffee can, heh, still shoots good, not sure we come outa this situation intact

Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
The local gun shops are wiped out of firearms and the ammo is gone. Apparently the new gun buyers are buying whatever, especially shotgun and 9mm. Driving down the I-17 and the line at Tombstone Tactical was around the building. Glockmiester and Bear Arms looked like the canned good and pasta section at the grocery store last week. Arizona Firearms still had rifles but no pistols only because he limited the purchase and closed for several days. They are all trying to get the background checks through.

QFT. I picked up a bunch of .22 handguns, and a couple rifles, at great prices...during the last ammo "crisis". I wouldn't mind picking up a few more.Ballistic Therapy wrote: ↑March 15th, 2020, 6:55 pm The last ammo shortage wasn't too bad actually.

Arizona Firearms had a line out the door when I drove by today. Probably queued up to get in and pick up their purchases. Don't believe they have any ammo though.

Tried to find some 9mm for a friend who just bought a 9mm for home defense. ?Very difficult to find 9mm other than the T Russian stuff. And the price are outrageous.

I don't know what your definition of outrageous is, but i have seen brass cased 9mm at online retailers for $0.30 a round or so. Not the best price, but not exactly un-affordable either.

Got into .22lr during the Dark Ages of Massah Obammy and stocked up pretty well.Bullzaye wrote: ↑March 29th, 2020, 3:07 pmQFT. Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
By pure luck, I had just happened to inventory my ammo stocks right before the aforementioned Obammy ammo shortage, and I had realized that I was woefully lacking in .22 LR. So, thankfully...I purchased multiple cases just before all that craziness hit. Otherwise...I likely would have let most, if not all, of those good deals on .22 guns pass right by me.Doc Holliday wrote: ↑April 18th, 2020, 8:10 amGot into .22lr during the Dark Ages of Massah Obammy and stocked up pretty well.Bullzaye wrote: ↑March 29th, 2020, 3:07 pmQFT. Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
First of all if you're buying your ammo from Cabela's you haven't done your research. Bulk ammo from a distributor is so much cheaper. Even now in the virus issue you can buy cases delivered to your door. Yes, the prices have gone up. But if you haven't learned through the last ten years of political bull to keep well stocked it may be too late. Best wishes!

Re: The new ammo shortage panic has begun
Thought I would resurrect this thread as I am hearing of new ammo shortages. Was at Prescott Gun Club today and they are saying that 38 and 357 is pretty cleared out for range issues.
I know that some other gun shops in Yavapai County have limited ammo buys for non-locals that come up from Phoenix.
How is it elsewhere?
