I want to load 335 gr Rainier Ballistics bullets. And, I want to use Vihtavouri N110 powder because yrs ago, I acquired a large amount of it from a distributor.
But the only published data for V110 stops at 325 gr , so, anyone know of a program that calculates this combo ?
Yeah I will attempt to contact Vihtavouri but since they don't list this bullet weight, I wouldn't be surprised if they would not want to be exposed to a liability.

Re: Load data for .50 AE
15 years ago a gunsmith acquaintance had a software that would calculate bullet performance, pressures, etc., after inputting bullet type and weight, powder brand and series.

Re: Load data for .50 AE
Just received a courteous reply from Vihtavouri that they would be sending my load data request to their Load Development Team for testing.
While they did say it could be a while due to a backlog of load requests, I thought it speaks well for the company that they don't merely blow off this kind of inquiry , which i've grown to expect from other issues,

I've been playing around with GRT (https://www.grtools.de/doku.php) and I like it - but it's free and the support is basically through a Discord channel. There is a similar tool that you can buy that has support but I think it's pretty fringe as well (can't remember it's name).geezer wrote: ↑May 30th, 2024, 9:06 pm I want to load 335 gr Rainier Ballistics bullets. I'll see if there are any leveragable models for 50AE and if there are I'll let you know...

Re: Load data for .50 AE
Thanks for this ! I'll tap into that site. It is similar to the program I had seen years ago.
Notice the caveat of possible dangerous press loads with Vn110/335 gr...the Vihtavouri testers said 335 gr would not leave adequate case space for n110, so that is that.
But they did test a couple other V powders that would be safe, and sent me the data.
