Blazer 115 case splitting

#1

Post by thom »

A buddy bought a case of Blazer 115 ammo and on the 5th shot the case split at the bottom. Any suggestions on how this happened?

Aero Precision EPC AR-9.

Case head separation. Normally caused by either an out of spec chamber or bumping the shoulder back too much when resizing.

Not the first time I’ve heard of the new Aero EPC having an out of battery detonation. There is a thread about it over on ARFCOM.

That's a blowback 9mm. There's no real shoulder to bump back.

Looks like it pulled it from the chamber way to early and was still pressurized causing it to break the casing as it was extracted.

Aero Precision said it was the magazine. He was using an ETS magazine. They recommended Glock or Magpul only.
