Re: 22 Ammo - Ever think we'd see these prices again?
I hit the jackpot several years ago at a Walmart in Utah while visiting my brother. Turns out that if you want to purchase ammo in Utah you show up on Sunday morning! Only person to show up and cleaned them out of the Winchester M22 1000 Round boxes. I typically have been purchasing lately also just to keep stocked up. Made the mistake of letting my son figure out what the funky contraption I purchased at the NRAAM in 2017 was a 22 speedloader for the 15-22 magazines. Been burning through it like crazy now.

I never thought 22 RF would get as reasonable as being under 20 bucks a brick again. After the great rimfire ammo drought we've had the last several years, I've pretty much gotten away from using 22 RF except for pest control. I guess I can get back to using it for plinking fun again.

I’m seeing it for .04 again which is awesome. 525 bulk packs to almost pre panic prices...I buy every time I see a sale on them now. I won’t be caught short ever again

I just visited the site and it is still a one case requirement.
The Geco .22 they sell ($205.00 delivered for 5000rd case) shoots nice tiny one hole, 5rd groups out of both my 10/22s.
While lower prices are nice it sucks we won't ever see the $5 bricks of just 25 years ago again.

I sold my 1 and only 22 rifle with 6k rounds when 22 ammo was like finding hens teeth. Made good $ on that sale and came to a conclusion.
Never will I be at the mercy of anyone to get what I need/want.
I've been casting the better part of 20yrs now, know about most of the how-to related to it. Up until recently I could cast and load up 44mag cheaper. Even rifles like cast with a few tricks, but still cheaper. Just takes me time and the desire to make the effort.
Sure the 22LR weapons are lighter, and a person can carry a lot of ammo being so lite. But a weapon without ammo just got turned into a club.

I am a bit surprised, it has taken much longer than I ever thought. Not only are the prices reasonable again, but it is sitting on the shelf for more than 5 minutes as well.

Yes, I was certain that these prices would return - it just took two years longer than I predicted.
If (when) there is another drought and you're not stocked-up to the gills, shame on you.

Over near me, I see the Remington Thunderbolt lead solidpoints routinely on the shelves at Walmart for $21 and change. Haven't seen the $20 Federal boxes yet.
Re: 22 Ammo - Ever think we'd see these prices again?
Mrs. Flash started buying lots of .22LR around 6 months prior to Ovomit's first November win at the Polls.
When he was in office, she continued buying anytime and anyplace she found a reasonable deal. I was smart enough to keep my mouth shut and not try and discourage her, even when the amounts we were warehousing started getting fairly large.
As a result, she shot a .22 conversion at least once a week every week when he was in office. She still does as a warm up.

I remember they were right about $16 before, doesn't look like well see that again.superdrag67 wrote: ↑May 19th, 2018, 11:55 amYes. They lowered the federal 550 bricks to $19.97 a few months ago. They are still at that price last I saw.
