Classic Firearms has both in stock. They're asking $240 for the Romanian and $350 for the Chinese. What warrants the extra $110?

Why is a Chinese Tokarev so much more than a Romanian?

Probably simply because the Chinese version can no longer be imported. If I recall correctly, however, the Chinese models had chromed bores, and I think the Romanians did not. But I could easily be wrong.

Importation of Chinese guns and ammo was stopped by Clinton.
If anything I would have thought the difference in price would be greater since back
in the day a Chinese SKS was $60-$80 and has been over $300 for years.

Maybe just my opinion from 15 years ago when I use to dabble in these things but I was LESS fond of the Chinese Toks. The actual military units were probably fine but some seemed to be made for export and QC seemed spotty . Slides seemed especially soft . Prone to peening in weird spots but I don't remember specifics but I remember some peening bad enough to make disassembly problematic .
Looking at the pictures on classic I see two different safety systems. The Chinese has grown a Glock like trigger flapper ?

importation was banned on the chinese version , hence the reason it has to be inflated
