Martini-Henry
Martini-Henry
Anyone know where I can find 24 gauge brass shotshells?
I looked online but they seen to be out of stock.
85 grains of powder, wool/cotton filler, wax lube disk and a 415 gr .459 bullet leads to some STOUT recoil.
The stout loads fired in my Browning BPCR rifle aren't as "memorable".

ordered some snider and martini 140 for 2 boxes shipped. New made, About 6 weeks. Been ordering for many years. Starting to make my own now. But they have many options for many rounds.

Re: Martini-Henry
I've managed to make 50 out of 24 gauge brass and only have about 10 rejects.
And the rejects were mostly turned into snider cartridges.
Only 2 complete "failures".

Re: Martini-Henry
Got my 24 g shot shells, powder, dies, made my own bullets. What are you guys using for filler? I have tons of cotton balls. Using bees was for lube. Start making them in few days. Using black powder not substitute. thanks
Re: Martini-Henry
cotton batting, cereal box card, bees wax, cereal box card, then the 500 gr paper patched bullet

Re: Martini-Henry
so many things on the internet. no box card i have seen. not planning on paper patched. Want to test rifles, then fine tune. Will try paper patch later, have other old calibers. i have 6 boxes of brass to try the martini and snider. So many options. Want to fire form on the 8 different guns. . Then find the best. I know each gun will want different load. But would like to find best adjustable recipe. will vary on gun. other guns working on 43 mauser.
