Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
Does anyone have experience with the A300 patrol? I heard that it's pretty good.
Thanks

Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
I have a a300 outlander that has been a fantastic gun (sporting clays/trap/skeet.)
The Patrol is based on the same action - so it should be just as good.

Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
I am very interested in the A300 Patrol as well. Good guntuber reviews, and shouldered it at Scheels and it felt pretty good.
Would love to know how it compares to the Mossberg 940 Pro Tactical.

Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
Here's my experience with them I have both the a300 patrol and the 1301tac . The 300 is set up perfectly as the Patrol model smooth operation, lightweight and fast to the shoulder when wearing a vest or bulky jacket. Recoil is manageable and the action is fast! Not 1301t fast but fast. For a sub $1200 Beretta shotgun I give it a 10 of 10 . Having both models the a300 outshines the 1301 for cost and everyday utility. If you are looking for a HD semi auto this is it.

Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
I think a good burn-down, hard-use type of test and comparo with the 940 Tactical would be fun and interesting.
BTW, does anybody here have good detailed info on the A300's barrel material and construction, and how/if it differs from the 1301 (or 940)?

Any problems with it? I've read about issues with the rear QD socket. Any comments about that?mike-jones wrote: ↑November 1st, 2023, 10:44 am Here's my experience with them I have both the a300 patrol and the 1301tac . Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
A friend bought one after watching videos. He said that he used an older QD socket without any problems.

It's good. I shot one back to back vs my 1301. Recoil is a little sharper, action is about half as fast but it patterns well and shoots consistently. Can't speak to reliability as I only had time to put a case of ammo through it but it didn't have any malfunctions while I was running it.

For those that are Jones'n, check with Tombstone. I am almost certain I saw their sale-price tag at something like $884-ish..glock holiday wrote: ↑November 6th, 2023, 8:02 pm .... my next shotty will be the a300 patrol and seen it locally for as low as $940

Correct me if I am wrong.
The A300 is GAS-driven and
the 1301 is Inertial, yes?

Today on 2/8, I saw the tag at 849.

Re: Beretta Ultima A300 Patrol
To add my $0.02:
I have a highly modded 1301 tactical with all the goodies- aimpoint t2, mag extension, competition lifter, competition trigger group, magpul stock, aridus everything pretty much. It's great and I love it. Super reliable, very very accurate with slugs, patterns great with flite control 00 buck and every type of birdshot I've put through it (mostly #7.5 for dove and some #6 for squirrels).
That said, I've shot my buddie's A300 tactical about 500 rounds through it and it's good too. Not as good as the 1301- the action is definitely quicker and the recoil is less sharp on the 1301 (extended forcing cone maybe?) but my split times are nearly as good on the A300 as my 1301 to the point that it doesn't make a difference in my opinion.
With the A300 due to the recoil spring setup you can't swap stocks like you can with the 1301. Otherwise they're pretty comparable, but again if you're looking for that last 10-15% improvement get the 1301. Otherwise you'll be very happy with the A300.
I use my 1301 for everything from deer hunting with slugs to dove hunting and everything in between. It's a swiss army knife for getting it done.
