Hello all,
I’ve been on the hunt for an escutcheon for the forend of an old Savage 440A, but have had no luck for the past few months. The original ended up somewhere in a dove field a few years ago. When looking for parts for old guns, where do you usually check?
Thanks for the help!

Re: Trying to find parts for an old shotgun
If Numrich doesn't have it, you are usually out of luck. I have some above average Google-Fu, and I just spent 10 minutes looking for it...there isn't a thing out there. Several sites that list it, but zero in stock.
Short of buying an entire 440A as a donor parts gun, I think you may be out of luck (unless by some miracle someone here has one).
If you feel like spending a lot of money, I'm sure someone could fabricate one for you.

Numrich is the first place I look, but sometimes you'll luck out on Gunbroker.

I agree with Gunbroker, also can find oddball parts on Ebay.
