Depends on whether it'd be just another horse in the stable or the only piece I had for protection.

You are right. I just have no use for it.

If both were new I think the GP100 would be worth more. All things considered it would depend on personal preference. If you feel like you would enjoy shooting the Glock more then go Glock. If you would be happier with the GP go for it. In the end both are fantastic firearms of great quality. If you are happy with the deal do it and don't worry about which is worth more. Just my .02¢

Well I'm biased to revolvers so yeah I would trade my G19 for a GP100 provided that it was a 4" with sights... Wouldn't have to think about that one.
I like my Glocks but prefer something as sexy looking as a stainless revolver over a black boxy looking plastic wonder nine.

Better idea. Own both. I switch between a 9mm revolver and g19 depending on activity and dress.

I have one of each, and like each for different reasons.
My 24 r old son (not an avid shooter) likes the Ruger alot and feels it is a safer pistol for him, which makes sense, but I DO like the hi cap capability of the G19, especially for carrying

My preference for personal protection if I could only have one would be the G19, that being said if I wanted to go shooting for fun my preference would be the Ruger (if it had a nice trigger job on it).
I feel like a novice shooter is better off with a revolver for personal protection because if is fails to fire for any reason they simple pull the trigger again, no "tap, rack, bang" or clearing a stove pipe or any other complex task done in the heat of the moment.
I do love the weight of the revolver, and I like the easy retrieval of my brass after I shoot, that being said 17 rounds versus 6 is hard to argue with in a defensive situation (hate to get killed for lack of shooting back)
