Shooters!

If you like your pistols, but really want to learn how to shoot one well, nothing beats spending a coupla hours every few weeks carefully focusing on your front sight (or red dot) and smoothly squeezing the trigger

“Bullseye” pistol, formally called “Precision” Pistol by the NRA, is THE classic American form of pistol competition, and closely related to Olympic Pistol events. This is one-handed style of pistol shooting from 25 and 50 yards at paper “bullseye” targets with numbered scoring rings, more points for shots closer to the center. There are stages for .22 pistol, .45 pistol and other centerfire pistol, a full day of shooting would be 90 shots of each, with some strings slow fire and some rapid fire.

PRGC https://phoenixrodandgun.org/ is really the center of Bullseye Pistol in Arizona with weekend practices and registered matches and a Tuesday evening league and this club sends the Arizona State Pistol team to the National Championships at Camp Perry every year. Rio Salado https://www.rsscaz.com/ also has a Monday evening program. And some summer matches are held at a range in Showlow. (All club matches and registered matches at all these clubs are open to everyone, club membership not required).

In order to welcome more shooters into this aspect of the sport, PRGC will be conducting a Beginner’s Clinic for Bullseye Shooting! September 28, 2019, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This clinic will teach you what you need to know to get started or get re-acquainted with the great sport of bullseye pistol shooting.

The Clinic includes classroom instruction and several hours of range time with experienced shooters helping you to develop and refine your technique. You will come away from this clinic with the training you need to participate in bullseye matches.

The clinic is designed primarily for shooters with pistol experience but with little or no experience in bullseye competition. All Clinic shooting will be with .22LR pistols, a few loaner pistols may be available. Bring 100 rounds.

The fee is $25 for adults, or $10 for minors (under 18), and includes all instruction and course materials.

Space is limited and pre-registration is required. To reserve a space see the sign-up information at https://phoenixrodandgun.org/node/7650.

This PRGC clinic is open to everyone, club membership is not required, neither is competition experience. It is inspired by similar programs at clubs back east and the High Power Rifle beginner’s clinic held twice a year at Rio Salado.
