Glock 26 or 43x

#1

Post by Stevegardner »

I have not been to the range in a couple years, my airweight .642 has not been shot in a couple years. Time to step things up. My wife and I have a two hour session with an instructor at Caswells this weekend. She has never shot, I am rusty and she would like some training and to start carrying. I prefer it this way, learn properly and practice.
I have a S&W 642 I used to carry as a pocket gun. I am going to probably peddlevthat and get one of the two mentioned above, the G26 or 43x. I will try both this weekend. Which one of those two conceals best? Is Caswells a good place for my wife and I to purchase new guns?

Thanks. Looking forward to shooting again.

I think it is a matter of preference.

I have both, and bought a 43 for the gf as a EDC. She used it for her CCW course and loves it. They are a little lighter and slimmer than the 26, FWIW.

I've had a G26 for many years and its a great shooting gun but, depending on the your build and the holster you use, it is a fat little piece to conceal. In fact, I've come to the conclusion that the G19 is just about as easy to conceal as the G26. So between the choice of the G43 or G26 I'd choose the G43 as the more ideal CCW due to its slim width.

Thanks Guys, appreciate the feedback. I will try out a few different pieces, love what I read about the 43x. My wife booked two hours to shoot, that’s plenty of time to try a few.

I’ve had the 26 (actually the 27 in 40 cal) and recently had a chance to buy ether a 43 or 43X... I went with the 43X.

I find the double stacks sub compact Glocks unpleasant. I prefers full size gun but of the teeny tiny's the 43X and 48 are hard to argue with

Neither. Sig P365. Shoot them side my side and feel the difference.

This. I have owned multiple G43’s and for a gun of this size for this use the Sig P365 wins hands down (for me).

User preference. The 26 is nice because you can use the longer Glock mags in it. 17 rnds on the reload or more is better than 10.

I used to carry my g19 but recently picked up a 43x. All I can say is the difference is incredible. 43x Is so much easier to conceal and feels a lot better due to the slim design

Whichever feels best in your hands and points the most natural.

I’m a fan of the 26 with a factory 12 round mag for carry, but if I didn’t already own it I would get the 43X. The slight reduction in grip circumference is really noticeable inside the waistband carry.

I prefer the 43X but they do feel very different in the hand. Try them both and pick the one that feels best for you.
