Looking for feedback. Anybody own or shoot one? Looking for a hammer fired pistol. Already own a Sig P226

I have the phantom version with the polymer frame and I think it's the smoothest shooting pistol I've ever shot. It puts my "enhanced elite" P229 to shame, especially considering the CZ is half the price.

I handled both the metal framed and the polymer at LGS. I kind of gravitated to the metal. Thanks for the input.

I have had the aluminum frame and steel frame cz75 compact and have spent some time with the sp01. It is outstanding. Requires a little break in to really smooth out but they are great handling super accurate.

If I had room in my budget for a full size 9mm I would be all over this

Edited to add ... don't know where you are located but Ted's range in queen creek has one for rent.

I have the SP-01 tactical: steel frame, night sights and ambi decocker only. Love it to death. Only minor gripe is that the reset is a little longer than it is on my Beretta 92 pistols but I shoot them equally well. More of a "feel" issue than a performance one.

In case you didn't know, the "phantom" version is the polymer frame. That's the one currently in service by the Czech Military.

The pix of the one on armlist are taken from a distance but what I can tell it looks in good shape. I have been looking at that damn gun for weeks but just cant justify it for my needs unless needs are just a gun to have a blast with that feels super sexy in the hand and shoots awesome.

It also looks to me to be an older model with safety and not decock which I much prefer. I checked buds and the going rate is $590 .. add FFL for $20

I have received some internet email gun porn that has had them as low as $549 but then you had to pay shipping as well.

If you pick one up be sure to post your impressions.

I contacted the seller on Sunday and still haven’t got a response. I think I would prefer the tactical model because of the decocker vs safety since that is how my P226 functions. But that price is hard to ignore.

I believe the decocker is the omega system and from what I read when I had my p07 with omega it is close to a copy of the Sig system. So If you like the sig.

If you are a tinker the omega is bone simple to work on. I got my p07 pretty damn sweet in trigger and action all by myself. Cajun gunworks and cz custom have all the parts you need or want.

In my opinion the safety version with the older clock works is a touch smoother and nicer than the decock and wears in nicer but ... Meh it may be just me. I am not a decock fan as a rule.

That is an awful tasty price! :)

If you are or can get comfortable with manual decock it's a nice deal.

I had two Cz's with the older system and the one omega.

I carry one daily, its an excellent pistol. Cajun gun works makes some *really* nice upgrades for it, such as the "short reset system" that cuts the reset by quite a bit, and drops the trigger pull in both DA and SA by half.

I know this is an few months old but my greatest sale regret is selling my SP01. It was one of the 2 best shooting guns I've ever owned. Thousands or rounds and never one single malfunction. I could load long for it or it would shoot factory ammo both. That thing ran like a scalded dog.

I fell in love with my sp01 and even more after a new cz custom hammer, new springs etc...really help the DA a lot and the SA some...It will never be as nice as a 1911 trigger but its a different feel that you have to try...im caught in the CZ bug and just bought a scorpion and now a shadow 2..my poor glocks just sit in the back of the safe...

I really like the sp-01 but I think it is well worth it to spend a bit more for a custom shadow2
