Any Tokarev experts out there? Russian made Tokarev which has a safety 7.62x25 and came with extra 9mm barrel. Non US import. Purchased in Germany.

I'm surprised no one commented. Probably the only one in USA.

After reading suggested article it looks to Hungarian production no Russian. Purchased in 80s in Germany.

Check the chamber. It could be 9x21

Yeah, I've only seen those grips on Egyptian and Hungarian Toks. The Russians always used the straight star emblem grips.

But definitely rare in this country as a commercial, yet non-import.

And Chris the Mechanic is right to suggest to check the chambering for 9x21 vs. 9x19. Many European nations prohibited civilian firearms to be chambered in "military calibers". France and Italy are among those for sure. Not aware whether that is true in Germany. 9x21 was a popular caliber in Italy, for instance in weapons originally designed for 9x19. A 9x21 civilian cartridge will (usually) not chamber in a 9x19 gun, but a 9x19 can usually operate in a 9x21. The case dimensions and overall length of cartridge are exactly the same, except for the length of the case material. 9x21 will fit and function in original 9x19 magazines and such.
