New to Glock..RMR Qs

#1

Post by XJThrottle »

I picked up some 80% build kits a while back, and finally got around to building one. Specifically the GST-9 with a Wrath slide that is RMR cut. Sitting collecting dust with the GST was a box that contained a Vortex Venom. The Venom needs an adapter plate, but I'm either searching too specifically, or just not finding it.

Help..

Call the people that made the slide and ask them. Use blue loctite on the screws that attach the plate to the slide. I dip the tip of the screw and let it dry first. Do the same for the optic. If you are a high volume shooter good luck with that optic, i have killed a few of them and two of the dead units started having issues after 3 range sessions.

Sell the Venom, buy an RMR (or a Holosun 407C, 507C, 508T...all are RMR footprints). Problem solved.

The Venom footprint is the same as a Burris Fast Fire, if that helps you search.

A cursory Google search for "RMR adapter plate for Vortex" yielded this;

Swampfox Kingslayer and Liberty are both RMR as well.

Have a great, gun carryin', Kenpo day

Did you send them back to Vortex for repair/replacement?

I run a Swampfox Justice on my G34 carry optics pistol. It works quite well.

It’s like a wider version of the Liberty, and doesn’t crater your wallet.

Well...sht. It won't fit with the adapter either. The rear site is too close. Off to find a true RMR optic...
