New Luger owner

[OH-MAN]

My father in law passed in Jan. this year.
He had a few firearms he gave away to other family members when they downsized last year.
Today my mother in law stopped by and said she had something for me.
A few books and a DWM .30 Luger!!
I have no knowledge of these beauties. Always liked em but due to cost and being hard to find I just never got into them.
I am sure there are some folks here that know about these pistols.
I will gather as much info as I can to try and date and I.D. it
Now another caliber problem, a good problem I think!

There is a guy in Sun City West that is a Luger expert. Try to do some searches, if he is still alive, he would be a great resource for your Luger.

ynot, pretty sure he passed away a few years ago, seems to me i remember hearing of it. I'll reach out to a person i know who did biz with him, and find out as time allows

Update, the guy I know who was or used to deal with the fella, says hes pretty sure he has gone to luger heaven, i'll stay on it till i'm sure, other than that fella i know of no one who knows jack squat about that platform, other than they are cool as shiate.

Well you know what they say, a pistola without ammo is a crappy club.

Well after further inspection and review.
It turns out that it is a 9mm not 30 luger.
I was given about 10 30 luger cartridges with it so I assumed that was what it was.
Tried the ole bullet in the muzzle gimmic and it was a bit too small.
So I drug out my cheep very near calipers and sure nuff 9mm ish.
I hope my father in law did not shoot any 30s through it.
