The first problem your gonna have is WHICH model and variation of H&R topbreak 38 you got .
They made them for close to 80 years spanning from the black powder era forward with lots of evolutionary changes.
Coil springs , leaf springs ,bent wire springs etc.
You probably need to disassemble first and get an idea of what you are lookin at.
Every H&R seems to be an adventure onto itself.
