My dad bought one, wishes now he would have bought the RMR to start with. I sent him a RMR and he will send me the new Vortex when they get one to him to go on one of my suppressed 22 pistols. Spend the money on the RMR, I have broken all others with just the round count.Papago wrote: ↑May 29th, 2020, 1:20 pm https://www.cabelas.com/catalog/product ... prd1931269
Here is the FN with a Venom. Is the venom a good site? $999 gun and sight.
Optics ready handgun.

Thank you!AZ1182 wrote: ↑May 28th, 2020, 10:44 amI may have a solution to the dirty glass potential problem:Papago wrote: ↑May 28th, 2020, 10:25 am I am hoping to use it with a suppressor. I had not considered the blowback dirtying up the glass! I have heard some good things about the Holosun. I will look at the VP9 and FN options. I had a FN for a while and liked it. I tried a glock 19 with the trijicon and was very slow to find the red dot. Is there a trick to finding the dot faster? Thanks for all the input!
It works as advertised, I bought some, loved it, and went out and bought even more.

Re: Optics ready handgun.
Looks like this is an older post so, you've probably already made your purchase, but the FN 509 seems to be a great option and one that I am also looking at. As for optics, I've seen a lot of videos and recommendations for Holosun. Seems as though a lot of the youtube influencers really like Holosun as an option as well. A lot more friendly on the wallet too.Papago wrote: ↑May 27th, 2020, 9:38 pm I am ready to take the plunge and put a red dot optic on full size 9mm handgun. What do you guys recommend as far as gun and optic? I want a threaded barrel and suppressor height sights. Looks like CZ, sig, and glock are options. Am I missing any? Trijicon seems the most popular sight. Are their others just as good? Thanks.

Thanks for heads up!

Glock 34 and a M&P core both with RMR's. 35K rounds through both and now on 3rd battery on both. No issues, never lost zero even on battery change. They have both been on since I bought them. Flawless operation.

I'd lean towards the CZ.
One thing to consider is the fact CZ Customs is located right in Mesa. They're one of the top shops in the country for CZ's and something tuned up by them will be a real treat.
I'm planning on dropping my 75B SA off with them to see what they can do.

Dang... they’re less than a mile from my home and I didn’t even know about them. Thanks for posting this!Hammer 35 wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 7:50 am I'd lean towards the CZ.

Re: Optics ready handgun.
I purchased a P10s Optics Ready and threw a holosun 507C on it recently and can't say enough good things (I love my CZs though). Ordered a AIWB holster for CCW. CZ is good to go.

No problem! I've been debating sending them one or two guns, but now that they're just down the street... saves alot on shipping!Bear6462 wrote: ↑December 6th, 2020, 10:54 amDang... they’re less than a mile from my home and I didn’t even know about them. +1
The FN 509 optics mounting system is one of the best OEM options out there IMO. The red dot mounts directly to the slide without the need for any "mounting plate" in between, but uses optic-specific "recoil lugs" instead.
Depending on budget, you might also look at the STI DUO platform/system.

My eyes are going south too. Are we all old farts? What a difference my Trijicon RMR made (I did save the extra pennies to buy one). It is mounted on a G19 Gen4 MOS. While I love it I wish I had gone to a milled slide. The mounting plates makes the RMR sit higher. Plus the extra around $100 for the MOS model will almost pay for a milling. Just make sure you get a good finish under the optic. Many leave the cut in the white, no good!

There's nothing wrong with the Venom. Check it's features. Things like battery life, dot size, can you adjust the intensity of the dot, or is it self adjusted? How's it turn on/off.
All that's personal preference, you may or may not like it based on those.
