Hey 1911 guru's. I tried emailing Dan Wesson and its bouncing back. Do you guys know the cut on my Dan Wessom Specialist?
I've had it over a year and just hate the sights. I would prefer the Trijicon HD Night Sights or something similar like all my other guns.
If they share the same cut as springfield or other manufacturer?
Also, anyone know a good Smith to install them?

DAN WESSON 1911 FRONT SIGHTS
Front Sights for Dan Wesson 1911s
Important Fitting Note!
Over time, Dan Wesson has used three different configurations for their 1911 front sight dovetails.
2004 and earlier are a proprietary D.W. dovetail
2005 through 2015 were mis-matched in certain production years, the majority were “Springfield” but some were “Novak”
2016-present …………..”NOVAK”
If you are unsure of which dovetail you have, or what year your Dan Wesson was produced, I suggest that you call Dan Wesson and ask them. They have been very willing to answer these questions.

Thank you! Since I bought mine in 2018, It's Novak. Time to look for sights.
Anyone recommend a Smith to install them? Preferably while I wait or next day. I enjoy shooting this DW regularly.

FWIW, I have used Wright Armory on several occasions because they are fairly close. No complaints; they seem to be professional.
Also FWIW, my new favorite sights are TruGlo TFO -- tritium for low light, fiber optics for bright light.

Thank you again for the assist. I have used Wright Armory for Barrel work but didn't even think about them for 1911 stuff. I'll have to reach out. Their work has been top notch for me as well.smithers599 wrote: ↑August 26th, 2020, 6:58 pm FWIW, I have used Wright Armory on several occasions because they are fairly close. Wright's website says 35 bucks to install dovetail sights. If that's one sight, seems steep. If it's a set, seems pretty reasonable.

I ordered from John Harrison and installed them myself, but you can send him the slide and pay for him to install them. I ordered his U notch wide rear and it is an awesome set up.
