Good north Phoenix smith for barrel worK?

Discuss rifles, carbines, and other long-arms here (AR-15's, AK's, etc...)

Good north Phoenix smith for barrel worK?

#1

Post by AZHellfish »

I'd like to have a 10/22 cut to about 12.5", crowned and threaded 1/2x28. Behind the threads, I'd need the barrel turned down to the correct diameter and the existing front sight dovetail remounted so I can continue to use my current Techsights.

Any recommendations for that kind of work?

Don't use kilo guns. Paid them to install sights on an sr9c and they said it would take an hour. Came back two hours later and it wasn't done. They couldn't get it set into the dovetail without sanding down the base of the sight. That's fine and all, but they didn't do it evenly. They centered the dot, but not the post itself.

Another vote for NOT using Kilo guns.
Hacks and slobs.
My brand new upper and barrel looked like they drug it down the street behind a truck.

Any suggestions for having a Remington rebarreled? I might change from 308win to something flatter shooting.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it. Thinking about having a 243Win or 6.5creed barrel thrown on it.

I might just have someone pull the old barrel for me and twist on a pre-fit Remage barrel. Still kicking the idea around. Unless one of y'all want to let me borrow an action block and barrel wrench for a Rem700.
