Hard to beat a good AR15. Accurate, light, durable and easy to maintain. There are better rifles for special situations, but if I could have only one rifle, it would be an AR15 in 5.56mm. Sure, if I could have any one rifle, it would be an M16. Optics preferred either an Aimpoint (M2 or post) or a good illuminated LPVO.

My BCM 11.5 is my current favorite right now.

Have shot some others but nothing too special. Various AR type platforms like MCX, 416, MK18, and so on.

Never been all that big of a bolt action fan. ACR/SCAR, and AUG were cool, but I still prefer a trusty ol AR.

Can I have only one? Bolt is Remington 700 in 308 and lever is Winchester 94 30-30. The Henry Steel Boy in 357 is climbing the list.

I just posted this in the picture thread, but here goes...

My custom 308win Remington 700. Barrel cut back and rechambered, muzzle threaded and recrowned, reckoned, blueprinted, trigger work, fiberglass stock. It'll stack Federal Gold Medal Match into one hole even with the cheap glass.

It may seem basic and perhaps not very exciting, but my favorite rifle, without a doubt has got to be the M1 Garand. Had history, shoots the 30.06, low recoil, and very accurate. You can’t ask or hope for much more.

There are (4) rifles that I'll absolutely never get rid of, but if I had to single out one as my absolute favorite it'd be the M1 Carbine.

I always wanted an M1 carbine, but I missed the boat on getting them cheap. For the price they are now, I'd rather just build two ARs.

Yes I got lucky and bought mine for $200.00 at Lone Wolf back in the early 90's.

A friend of mine had one when I was in high school that I shot often and it became a must own item for me. I think it was the 3rd firearm I ever purchased on my own.

If you paid $200 in 1990, that'd work out to $398 today adjusted for inflation. I'd have been all over that.

That's a buy now, figure how to explain to the wife later on kinda buy.
