6.8 or 300 BLK? Which one

Discuss rifles, carbines, and other long-arms here (AR-15's, AK's, etc...)

It depends on your goal. If you are looking for a general 5.56 replacement, probably the 6.8. If you are wanting more of a niche gun that excels in CQB, (AND you plan on doing a 9-12" pistol/SBR) then the 300 Blackout is hard to beat, esp considering the ability to swap subs and supers. IMO, a 16"+ 300 Blackout does not have enough benefits over a traditional 5.56 AR to justify the ammo cost and reduced range, esp when 65 Grendel is available. On that, I'd rather have a Grendel over a 6.8. Take a look into the energy and velocity of a Grendel even out of a shorter barrel.

Realistically? No!
If you really want to be realistic, stick with .556 and .308. There will be plenty of it lying around on the ground and unmarked locations in the near future.
I love caliber debates, they are rather fun!

Need a little info on what it is you want out of the gun and the intended use.
