i'm wanting to do a carbine length barrel, so have been reading nightmare tales of getting it "right", so more info is just a lot of help. and the biggy is finding a 16inch barrel in stock somewhere. that doens't cost as much as full built upper.

thanks to all for info
Rj
RJ, it is a regular 16 inch barrel and a regular carbine buffer (I think) and spring. Back when I built it (15 or so years ago) There wasn't many choices for components because "PCC" wasn't a thing back then. I didn't know there were any issues with .45 ACP PPC's? I put mine together and started shooting it. I would guess it has to do with magazine/feeding issues like people wave with the 9mm PCC's. I needed to put in the little feed ramp to make my Glock mag 9mm PCC work.

No problem with questions, happy to help if I can.

Yah,... I was surprised to find that someone makes a delayed blow back 45acp upper.

With that type of action, I would think it would be perfect for experimenting in 45Super reloads.

I was going through some of my ammo stock and found about 2k rds of 45acp. The problem is that the only thing I have that shoots 45 are two 1911’s. I sold or traded off my 45’s.

That said a 45 ar would be great!

They are tough to get running. Even some factory guns have "restrictions" as to what works.

.45 super is great if you have a fully supported chamber. And don't load .45 super specs on standard .45acp brass. Its a perfect carbine round otherwise, like the hot loaded SMG 9mm.

If CMMG's Banshee/Guard in .45acp runs as good as my 9mm version, that would be the choice. I haven't yet been able to lay my hands on one to play with it,...but I want to.
